Why some tubes are cheaper than others? There are tubes < 80lm/W to 160lm/W. The chart clearly shows a big portion is less than 1600lm, less than 100 lm/W, and only a few passed US Design Lighting Consortium (DLC) criteria. Many makes decision based on cheapest product and have to replace due to unbearable lighting quality. Some have to remove due to high THD tubes are affecting sensitive measurement equipment. Key parameters to watch out are Efficiency, THD, PF, CCT, CRI, Flicker and mechanical strength. Some have plastic tube dropping from the ceiling due to plastic warping after prolong usage. The mistakes are REAL.
